“Some have argued that the salaries of corporate executives should be linked to those of their lowest-paid employees. This, they argue, will improve relations between management and workers, reducing costly labor disputes and increasing worker productivity. What these people overlook, however, is that these high salaries are necessary to attract the best managers, the individuals whose decisions have the greatest impact on the overall well-being of the company.”
ESSAY:-
It has been a tendancy of human being to be jelous. So when a lower paid workers see the salary of an Corporate Executive the jelousy would erupt on the surface. It's quite natural. But this does not necessarily end up in the costly labor disputes or lower the productivity of workers due to their dampened sprit. Rather, the higher salaries of the higher ups are justifiable.
There was an incidence in a factory - one of the furnace stopped working. The factory enggineers all checked in for the solution. But no one could rectify it. The losses of the company were increasing hour by hour and to make this furnace work was required to save the company. So, the company finally hired an outside expert, a very well known but too
expensive. The outside expert came and fixed the furnace in less than a minute. The moral of the incidence is - the experts are paid higher because of the high profile jobs they do for the company. Aren't the CEO of GE, GM Citibank getting paid a salary which the lowest class worker of the company can not even think of?
These higher band of managers bring the expertize with them, make the policies which has a high impact on overall company. They have the knack of the workers and bring in the schemes that satisfy the workers as well as bring the productivity out of them. The leadership qualities of these Executives are so remarkable that the workers see them as life saver as the executives save, run the company with the differenet strategies and take the company higher, earn the profit which in turn gives the benifits to all including the workers. The executives have an influence on the whole company for ex, who would deny the influence of tje ex. CEO of GE Welch? These leaders lead the company to the total profit and has influenced the generations of the workers.
In conclusion, if the Managers, Executives of the company are satisfied then the company makes profit and this makes everybody in the company happy. So they are really worth of getting the high salaries.
