Should i upgrade to the GMATPREP software

Hi,
First of all thanks for your replies.I recently downloaded GMATPREP 2.1 from mba.com.I also purchased the GMATPREP question pack.Now,when i login it states update is available.Is it necessary to do this update.Will my progress chart be reset and i will have to start from scratch.Also,i am assuming it wont affect my gmatprep question pack set,is it true?
