practice test verbal scoring question

by mgd » Sat Apr 05, 2008 7:49 pm
Hey peeps,

I just took 800 score practice test. I cannot properly reflect and make a 'lessons learned,' because I'm confused on how to analyze this verbal score.

I got the first three wrong : ( but I got 31 out of 41 correct.

my score was a 28, and percentile: 51

Did I just get really easy questions after I got the first three wrong, therefore giving me a low score, or what have you?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's probably what happened - after you got the first three problems wrong, you were given relatively easy questions, hence the low(er) score.

Also remember that this is a practice test, so the scoring probably isn't as accurate as on the actual GMAT, since the GMAC does not release any info on its scoring algorithm. Thus, test prep companies are left to make only their best guesses.
