I suggest you to take a little pain and write down the question in words instead of posting a screenshot. It would help others a lot.
myfish wrote:If (x - y) > 10, is (x - y) > (x + y)?

(1) x = 8
(2) y = -20
If (x - y) > (x + y), then (x + y) - (x - y) < 0 ---> 2y < 0 ---> y < 0
Hence, whatever the values of x is, if y is negative (x - y) will be greater than (x + y)

Statement 1: (8 - y) > 10 ---> y < (8 - 10) ---> y < -2
Hence, y is negative.

Sufficient

Statement 2: y is negative.

Sufficient

The correct answer is D.

It takes a lot longer to screenshot these things than to write. I always appreciate the original question more than someones attempt to code difficult mathematical formulas with word. However, this one is very easy and I could have typed it. Not sure why people would prefer the hand typed questions full of mistakes to the screenshots but I am learning.

Because this forum is meant for helping others and if you post screenshots then
  • 1. Others cannot search for it.
    2. People who are not logged in cannot see attachments.
Not to mention that this part of the forum rules. To quote the rule, "Write out your questions in your posts, don't simply add an attachment or image. Visitors who are not logged in cannot see attachments, so be courteous."

All the questions that you'll come across or have come across, have already been discussed on BTG forum. So
1. You can just google the first few lines of the questions and you will find a plethora of links to that question solved on BTG.
2.If you have specific queries to be addressed by experts, you may google the first few lines of the problem, go to the first link that you get, copy the question from there and paste it on BTG. Voila!

Hope this helps. And yes, I agree with Anurag.
