h+c = 3.59 ---(1)
h+f = 4.40 ---(2)

f=2c => c=f/2---(3)

Substitute c in (1) from (3)
and solve (1) and (2)

f = 1.62.. Does not look like ans is there..

Are you sure second question is complete? Looks like there is something missing...

There are (20x3)/2 = 30 games that that team played.
In order to win at least 3/4 of all its games , they have to win (3/4)x30 ~ 23 games
So, the greatest number of the remaining games that the team can lose is 30-23 = 7 games

Answer is A

section 1 - Qn.5

(A) $0.30
(B) $0.45
(C) $0.60
(D) $0.75
(E) $0.90

h+f = 4.40
h+c = 3.59
or
h+2c = 4.40 (since f=2c)
h+c + 3.59

c = 0.81
f = 2c = 1.62

section 1 - Qn.13

13. A certain basketball team that has played 2/3 of its games has a record of 17 wins and 3 losses. What is the greatest number of the remaining games that the team can lose and still win at least 3/4 of all of its games?

I'll just add to what Bia wrote:

There are (20x3)/2 = 30 games that that team played.
In order to win at least 3/4 of all its games , they have to win (3/4)x30 ~ 23 games
So, the greatest number of the remaining games that the team can lose is 30-23 = 7 games

therefore, the greatest number of the "remaining" games that the team can lose = 7 - 3 = 4

given on the original thread for this Question

Here it goes again..

A M J
(2/3)X X (4/3)X

Average= {(2/3)X*1.26 + X*1.2 + (4/3)X*1.08}/{(2/3)X+X+(4/3)X}

On solving Average = 1.16
