Next Generation GMAT - 2013 Applicant

by vbhalla1187 » Wed Jan 18, 2012 8:50 am
I'm planning on applying to business schools in the fall of 2012 with the hope of entry in the fall of 2013. I haven't taken the GMAT yet (currently studying) but wanted to know your opinion on how the new exam will be viewed by adcoms. I am planning on taking the exam in mid-April and if all goes well, I won't need to take it again. However, should I find myself in a position that I need to retake the exam, how do you think it will be viewed if I took the old exam and the new exam? Or should I just wait for the new exam? Will adcoms generally prefer the new exam over the old one for 2013 applicants? I'm just trying to figure out whether I'll be at a disadvantage by having taken the older exam. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well the Adcoms are gonna accept the new exam well of course, because it's just GMAC trying to make their "product" better for their users... totally natural. As far as old vs. new - Don't worry about it. You take the exams at the times that are good for you and your life, and you let them worry about the equivalencies. The schools will be all prepared for it.
