Hi VP Team.

I want to know whether you encourage/recommend the use of simulated tests from www.catprep.com?

There is a testimonial on catprep.com's website, indicating Veritas Prep's approval/positive feedback regarding those tests.

I have already used the practice tests from standard sources (Manhattan GMAT, Kaplan, Princeton and GPrep). I am looking for tests that are good representation of the actual test.

P.S:I have used the standard tests during my previous attempts

...btw: Special thnks to VP_Jim. I am following some of the suggestions that you have provided to other BTG users....and I am seeing some improvement.

Thank You.

Thanks for the shout-out - you're very welcome!

While I have not personally taken that test, if Veritas recommends it then it must be good. Anyway, there's really no such thing as a bad practice test - any practice is good practice!

Also, I don't know if you've seen this already, but we (Veritas) also have a free practice test on our website. Here's the link:

Good luck!

Thank You Jim.

I used this test....last wknd. Got 50 in Q....but I was very sleepy during the verbal part.......due to lack of sleep and ended up with 30 with overall 640. (Scored a 760 in PowerPrep....a day before......but most of the CR qstns were seen by me during OG practice.....hence I did not take this score seriously)

I have no other options......so I will go ahead and buy catprep.com's practice tests.

Can the Veritas Instructor VP_Jim please guide me as to how should I plan for my verbal section. I gave Veritas Free Test today, and scored 52 in Quant but only 17 in Verbal, taking the score down to 580. I am completely out off mind as to how should I start with my Verbal preprations.. I have no problems with Quant sections..

Waiting for your reply..

Wow, I didn't even know it was possible to score 52!

Anyway, my best advice is to start reading. With a verbal score that low, you need to work on your English fundamentals. Read any well-written material in English you can get your hands on - be it books, newspapers, magazines, whatever. Before moving on to GMAT stuff, you need to set a solid foundation.

I made a run at the Veritas Free Test yesterday and also scored a 52 on Q. I missed 3 questions. My V score was a 33 for a combined score of 670. I have been studying for about a month, almost exclusively on Q, so the V score was not surprising. Probably 90% of the V questions I missed were SC.

One thing that was unusual about this exam was I finished both sections with 15-20 minutes left on the clock.

It sounds like high Q, low V is the trend with this exam, but I'd be interested in hearing other opinions.

I scored 660(Q 51 V 32) in VP free test (I was .....almost passed out during the verbal section....due to lack to sleep).

I ended up with 710 on the real thing.
