I am currently trying to decide between going to Vanderbilt or Texas for my master's in accounting. Does anyone have any insight on whether Texas is really what it's cracked up to be in accounting and whether going there would present any significant advantage over going to Vanderbilt, generally speaking? I'm accepted to both.
Thanks in advance!
Vanderbilt MAcc or Texas MPA

Hi fhucrosscountry,
Congratulations on getting accepted to both schools; having to decide between the two is a nice "problem" to have.
When it comes to evaluating an individual program, there are a number of variables to consider, including (but not limited to):
1) Cost
2) The amount of work it will take to relocate
3) The reputation of the school/program
4) The specific field (or company) that you want to work for/in. Certain programs are "feeders" to companies or career paths.
5) The location in which you plan to live in the foreseeable future (some degrees carry more "weight" based on geography).
After receiving invites to both schools, what was your initial impression? Did you have a "first choice" when you applied?
