Stimulus: P(women win) = P(men win), 15% of candidates are women => "few women win the election few want to run"

A. out of scope - "reelection"
B. contender. However, "run against each other" doesn't happen among women only, so only that reason may not lead to the stated fact.
C. opposite - supports the argument
D. same as A
E. contender - women want to run but many of them cannot get adequate funding. It is preferred due to the explanation above for B.

Choose E.

I would go with B.

I think B is not right as its stating the fact that few women run elections what ever be the reason.

I was confused between A and E, but finally picked E. A while tempting does not solve the real issue, even if lesser women won the re-election, the number of women was anyway less to begin with.
If the conc is there are lesser women in office because lesser women run, the answer should look for an alternate reason why more women could have run (but didn't)

Therefore, the reason there are so few women who win elections for these offices is not that women have difficulty winning elections but that so few women want to run.
Which of the following, if true, most seriously undermines the conclusion given?
(A) Last year the proportion of women incumbents who won reelection was smaller than the proportion of men incumbents who won reelection.
(B) Few women who run for state and national offices run against other women.
(C) Most women who have no strong desire to be politicians never run for state and national offices.
(D) The proportion of people holding local offices who are women is smaller than the proportion of people holding state and national offices who are women.
(E) Many more women than men who want to run for state and national offices do not because they cannot get adequate funding for their campaigns.

My ans was C but I am wrng again y????

I think E is the correct answer which exactly points out the reason of women not running the election.
The author says women are not willing to run. And women have equal chances to win as men have.
E option points out another important reason of funding which creates more problem to women than men. I
