Topic: UCLA - Why I Applied.

I'll be honest: UCLA was a safety school for me. That doesn't mean it doesn't have things I was looking for though.

Entrepreneurship is consistently rated tops at UCLA. Being located where it is, UCLA has a variety of industries it is associated with - from brand management to sports and entertainment. If you want to be an entrepreneur in one of these industries, you probably couldn't ask for a better choice. Since my interests are innovation & entrepreneurship in the technology domain, Haas is a better choice, but that doesn't make UCLA a bad choice. Entrepreneurship is entrepreneurship no matter what industry.

I met the Anderson students during coffee chats and they were down-to-earth and fairly relaxed. UCLA's questions are reflective of the diverse student body - one question asked explicitly about who you are and why you are the person you are. I can't think of a better way to build a diverse student body than to ask people this question.

For the international aspects, there is an Advanced International Management program that requires several international courses, an international research project, and a choice of several international experiential projects (study abroad, internship abroad, foreign language training, or independent study).
