Top schools - What is each city famous for?

If you're choosing a place to live for the next 2 years you would like to know what the city has to offer you (whenever the MBA allows you to). So if you have to point out few things that highlight your city, what would it be?

1) Boston
2) Philadelphia
3) Chicago
4) Stanford
5) Hanover
6) New York
7) Berkeley
8) Ann Arbor
9) Durham
10) LA
.
.
.
(add others)

I have lived in 3 of the cities, including Durham for my MBA.

Chicago is an awesome city with culture, nightlife, dining and quality people, but you will be there in the winter....
Durham is a great place to study. Nature is beautiful and you will have plenty of time to enjoy it with quality weather. Basketball is pretty solid too.
NY goes without saying. A top city in the world, but tough to afford on a students budget.

Well I think new york is obvious. Capital of the world, wall st. broadway, yankees, etc. However, the smaller cities like Hanover and Ann Arbor have a lot going for them. First, much cheaper. Easier to get around, develop a community and get outdoors. Plus they typically have nice, smaller downtown areas with great restaurants and bars.
