The points R, T, and U lie on a circle that has radius 4. If the length of arc RTU is , what is the length of line segment RU?

A. 4/3
B. 8/3
C. 3
D. 4
E. 6

Easy, circumference will be 2(r)Pi, that's 8Pi.

RTU + RU = 8Pi so as soon as we know one, we can find the other Smile

@calande..you interpreted it totally wrong..!!

arc RTU (major/minor) + arc RU(minor/major) = 8Pi (assuming T lies in between R and U..) but not RTU + RU = 8Pi



we have been asked the length of line segment RU but not the length of arc RU!!

When arc RTU length is given, we can definitely find line RU length but for that we need one more info in the qn which is missing.
