Lines n and p lie in the xy plane.Is the slope on n less than slope of p??
(1)Lines n and p intersect at the point (5,1)
(2)The y intercept of line n is greater than y intercept of line p. _________________ Maxx |

1) is clearly insufficient
2) y intercept means x=0, this means n has a greater value of b (y=mx+b) that p by itself issuficient
C is the answer, because if b is greater in n than in p and they inetrcept after that, either m is negative for line n or the value of m (slope) is greater in line p than in line n, or else they would not intercept later on. |

1 -> N and P intersect at (5,1)…..not sufficient to know the answer
2-> when x=0, the value of y is greater for N
Take an eg
N=(0,5)
P=(0,2)
5>2 is implied by 2nd stmt
slope = y/x
for N slope = 5/5 =1 pts taken are (0,5) and (5,1)
for P slope = 2/5 = .4 pts taken are (0,2) and (5,1)
so slope of N is greater than slope of P.
i hope now u got the soln |
