Hi,
I know taking the GMAT twice doesnt impact your candidacy negatively - so what about 3 times? Do admission committees look down on that?
Also, what if your first score is VERY low the first time (480 - I completely choked and was getting over 600's on GMAT Prep practice exams) - Do they view a very low first score negatively?
Please let me know. Thanks. |

Dear rosh26,
Three times is not viewed poorly. However, some schools (but not all) do view more than three times negatively. Likewise, most folks do not make a significant increase after the third time so it is not always the best use of your time and money to take it a fourth, fifth or sixth time.
Most schools focus on the highest total score in the evaluation. It can be seen as a positive that you have increased your score from one test to the next, so as long as your second attempt is an improvement you should be fine.
Good luck,
