Hi dineshjv,

I think you are confusing subject and verb? Efforts is a plural noun, which could serve as a subject. Spins is usually a singular verb (action), although it can sometimes be a plural noun (things).

The tricky bit is that not only plural nouns end with 's', but also Present-tense singular verbs (eats, drinks, sits).

Anyway, the net is full of free excellent grammar websites - simply search for it in Google and you will get all the info you need.

This is a good resource for subject verb grammar rules. It also provides clear examples.
