Hello BTG,

Please find the attached excel file for my plan to study the two review books. I prepared 8 GMAT tests from these two books.

Hope you will find it useful.

Good luck,

Hey emrahercan,

can you explain the excel sheet a bit more clearly.

Thanks in advance.

sure.

I tried to create GMAT tests from the OG Review books. In other words, 37 quant and 41 verbal. I work on one set if these questions and analyze them the following day.

The numbers you see on that file is question intervals from different sections. Lets say 1-15 CR means work on CR questions between 1 and 15, inclusive.

Hope this helps,

EE

What exactly do you do during analysis of test ? Do you just see the answers for the questions which you missed and search for explanations ? or is there more to it (which I suspect there is)

Thanks

I categorize my answers as below:

1) Correct Answers

1-a) Correct + Good timing: I read the explanation and find if there is any alternative solution

1-b) Correct + Bad Timing: I try to find if there is any faster approach/method

2) Incorrect Answers

This is where I spend most of my time. Before reading the explanation, I try to solve the question again without worrying about the time. ( very important step in learning process )

After that I read the explanation and find out why I couldn't answer the question.

+ Silly mistake ?
+ New question type ?
+ Lack of knowledge ?

I also log all my answers ( OG Tracker )

It is a time consuming process but I believe that every second is worth it. I do believe in quality of studying over quantity.

Hope it helps,

Good luck!

I got the OG tracker through Manhattan GMAT. But I believe you can find it in "resources" link. It is an excel file where you can track your answers and log your timings. It also classifies the questions. Wonderful tool - and I highly recommend it!

If you purchase any of MGMAT books, you will have access to their 6 CAT ( Second best after GMAT Prep ) and OG Tracker and all other good stuff.

Have fun!
