Slopes and Quadrants

Does positive slope mean a line will be in I and III Quadrants and will not lie in the II and IV quadrants?


Does Negative slope mean a line will be in II and IV quadrants and will not lie in the I and III Quadrants ?

Please help me out on this ..

Y = ax + b

a>0 positive slope

a<0 negative slope



depending on "b", a line can be in each quadrants no matter what its slope is
