Singular/ Plural

The term 'Costs' ends with 's' but is considered plural. However, we mostly take words that end with 's' as singular. what am I missing?

Hi anurag_7,

The word "costs" can be used as a noun OR a verb.

eg.

This car costs $5,000.

The costs of these courses are too high.

While the GMAT tests a set of standard grammar rules and idioms, you still need "context" to know what rules apply to any given question.
