SHOULD I TAKE THE GMAT AGAIN??? 670 (Q46, V36) Post Tue Feb 28, 2012 12:02 pm
Hello, I want to apply on first round for a top program (Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, Kellogg) next year. I am a 24 year old Mexican guy who has an undergrad in International Business Management and am currently working in consumer goods marketing. By the time I enter my MBA I will have 18 months experience. Am I way too young and unexperienced? Should I wait until next year to apply?
Also, I have a pretty good score for a Mexican, but not a good score overall... Do you think I should take the GMAT again? This was my second try, on the first try I got a 650 (Q44, V35).
Thanks!

I would say if you think you can study hard and increase your verbal to a 40 it might be worth taking.Get a 46 or a 47 on math isin't really going to boost you up. The verbal at this point counts heavily towards your score and would be the factor in getting you to a 700.

You are definitely young, which may hurt you in your application. Based the schools you are applying to, it would probably be in your best interest to retake the test.

I would strongly advise that you take it again. Most notably because you are younger than most applicants. You want to bring some more depth to you application.
