Should I retake? Need your advice. Post Sat Mar 10, 2012 11:44 am
Hi All,

I have got 710 (Q48,V40). I got what i was expecting in English but in quants i was expecting around 50 which will land my GMAT around 740.

I am an Indian IT male(2 years work-ex), toughest pool of India and starting with my own business. I will be applying this year. I need you advice on whether i should retake my exam?

I am aiming for Ivy Leagues and mainly Kellogg for Marketing program.

Regards,
Thanks.

Unless you plan on taking up a career as a GMAT instructor, I think you are fine. The range of acceptable into all IVY league schools is 680-750, with the median obviously around 710-720.

A high score can definitely help with scholarships, but you are likely better spending your time improving your applications before retaking the exam. Maybe consider it if you are going to apply this fall, which means you have some time before applications come out.
