Ken left a job paying $75,000 per year to accept a sales job paying $45,000 per year plus 15 percent commission. If each of his sales is for $750, what is the least number of sales he must make per year if he is not to lose money because of the change?
(A) 40
(B) 200
(C) 266
(D) 267
(E) 600
Please help in finding efficient way to find solution of this problem. D is the answer. |

Let n=number of sales
We can write an equation as follows
--> [Fixed annual salary after transfer + Commission(15% per sales)] greater than or equal to previous annual salary
--> 45,000 + n x 750 x (15/100) (>=) 75,000
Therefore, n is greater than or equal to 266.66666.....
Since n is an integer(number of sales) n must be at least 267 |

| Yes, got it, thank you ! I was making mistake in calculation and was getting 133.33 as answer. So I was wondering where I'm going wrong. The serious thing is I made same mistake agian and again ... |
