Scoring pattern on the GMAT

by piconnie » Tue Feb 24, 2015 10:10 pm
Hello GMAC team,

My question for you is related to the scoring pattern on the GMAT. There are a lot of theories around regarding the scoring pattern, some of which stress on spending more time on the first 10-15 questions for each of the Quant and Verbal sections; while the others dismiss this "belief" and elaborate on the equal importance/weight-age of all the questions on the GMAT.

It would be really helpful if you could throw some light on this.

Thanks and regards,
Faraz

Hello,

The first portion of questions are no more important to your score than the later portions, so it would not be wise to spend more time on these than others on the exam. You can read more about this and other myths about the GMAT exam here: https://www.mba.com/the-gmat-exam/prepar ... takes.aspx.
