Score Improvement Strategies Post Sat Apr 14, 2012 1:53 am
I don't understand the scoring method of GMAT. So I am producing my performance in MasterGMAT tests and GMAT Prep 1, and have presented my doubts below.

Test Name Date Score Quant Verbal
Crct Wrng Unans Crct Wrng Unans
MasterGMAT 1 06-04-2012 530-560 18 8 9 16 15 10

MasterGMAT 2 07-04-2012 640-660 17 16 4 19 18 4

MasterGMAT 3 10-04-2012 640-660 22 14 1 21 19 1

GMAT Prep 1 14-04-2012 600 29 8 0 23 18 0

As can be seen in above score cards, I have been improving on the number of questions answered correctly while reducing the number of unattempted questions to zero. But there is no improvement in scores. What are the possible reasons for this low score though correct answers are improving? How can I reduce the chances of getting low scores?

Please help me in framing better strategies to fetch 700+.

Getting a continuous streak of wrong ans bring down your score as well as the difficulty level of the questions.

If you guess on a question then try to nail the next one.

Analyse which type of question u r getting wrong. practice and develop strategies for improving in those areas.

suppose if u get most of the SC questions based on tenses wrong, then brush up your tense basics and practice questions based on tenses. doing more and more question in your weak areas will not improve. the score will improve only if you learn frm each question. you shd analyse why the correct answer is correct and why the incorrect options are wrong.
