The bank acknowledged that they are and will

continue to experience difficulties as it attempts
to

deal with the precipitous fall of the dollar against

the yen and the dislocations reflected in the stock

market decline.

(A) they are and will continue to experience diffi-

culties as it attempts

(B) they are and will continue to experience diffi-

culties as they attempt

(C) it is and will continue to experience difficulties

as it attempts

(D) it is experiencing and will continue to experi-

ence difficulties as they make an attempt

(E) its difficulties are likely to continue as it attempts

'the bank' is singular. so 'it' should be used.

A) they is wrong
B) they is wrong
C) usage of 'continue' means that it is the situation now. so redundant.
D) redundant usage
E) its refers to the bank and 'to continue' in parallel with 'to deal'. Correct.

Whats the OA?
