I would choose "C" in GMAT because of the only choice offering parallelism. Can any one tell me whether I am wrong. What is the OA, please?

IMO A

B/E are incorrect as in these "women over the age of thirty" are compared with "born"

C/D - pronoun error....... they/there have multiple reference (babies/women)

imo A.

there is a comparison in the original sentence and 2 things that are being compared are women in two age groups 1) over the age 30 and 2) under 30 years.

"to women over the age of 30 than (to women) under it (age 30)"

as Wonder said - (to women) can be omitted

what is the OA ?

The sentence should have been

According to public health officials, in 1998 Massachusetts became the first state in which more babies were born to women over the age of thirty than were born to women under it.

Due 2 simplicty they hav taken off the second part and let it stay under it.
Meaning is not distorted
