Republicans also benefited from the enthusaistic and well-organized support of conservative Christians concerning about social issues, including abortion.
(A) concerning about social issues, including abortion.
(B) concerning on social issues, including abortion.
(C) concerned about social issues, including abortion.
(D) concerned on social issues, including abortion.
(E) concerned social issues, including abortion.

I crossed out B,D and E because "concern about", not "concern on" or "concern". Between A and C, I chose (A) but the OA says C. Could anyone explain this? Thank you.

"benefited" = past tense. You should use concerned.

Question-Are they two sentences connected with "and"? If that's correct, then C is the correct answer.
However, I interpreted that Republicans benfited from "Conservative Christians", who are enthusiastic and well-organized support.

Experts,
Is the question worth a study?

I think its also about the tense usage

"Republicans benefitted from....of...christians concerning about x,y,z

while

"Republicans benefitted from....of...christians concerned about x,y,z

you should be concerned that you missed this..Wink (kidding)

Its a parallel construction error.. maintain the same tense through out the sentence.

Rep. benefitted...from X...

So this narrows down to C,D,E...

concerned about something....Only C has that required form.

this is my idea

"concerning" can mean "will concern", "concerned", "had concerned"

doing show no tense. doing can be any tense because it is indefinite, pls, look at grammar book for this basic thing

but do not study too much and stray away from gmat. we are learning gmat rules, not general grammar

"concerning" here mean make sb concerned and so is wrong. "concerned" is correct

"about" is correct, "on" is wrong , no preposition is wrong

"Concerning" in this context is a preposition and is synonymous with "about" so A it is redundant. You would not write a sentence that says: I am here to speak to you concerning concerning / about about Bob. "Concerned" in choice C is a verb.

"Concerning about" sounds odd. Try to make a sentence with it.
