According to the dating guidelines for dating proposed by the new head of a certain religious sect, the following criteria must be met before any dating can take place:
When the parents of one young person have agreed with the parents of another young person that the two people may date, each of the young people must consent, and before doing so must have the other's consent.
Which of the following assessments of the logic of the proposed dating guidelines is accurate?
A. The guidelines would make it possible for a young person who dates to be sure that the other person has consented to the date.
B. The guidelines would allow a young person to decline a date without the other person knowing that the date has been declined.
C. If there is are several people whom a young person wishes to date, the guidelines would prevent a young person from considering several offers before deciding whom to date.
D. The guidelines would give a young person the final say in choosing dates.
E. The guidelines would make it impossible for any young people in the sect to date.
Any input on this question will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

| I went with A too and that was not right. The OA is E (for some odd reason). |

| I went with D. However, I cannot say why E is right. |

The guideline says that if A wants to date B and B wants to date A, they need each others consent before that.
i.e A needs to know that B will date A before A can ask B out
B needs ti know that A will date B before B can ask A out
Both conditions are not possible at the same time. |
