Reading speed is less important than processing speed: how quickly you can grasp the essence of the problem, and what approaches are good to try. Here, you might think of picking numbers, since you have a word problem in which the answer choices are all variables. From there, you work with the sentences one at a time so you don't get overloaded with information, then sort through the implications of each one.Nina1987 wrote: 1) Speed: It usually takes me more than 60 secs just to read and understand what is going in it. Is the reading speed lower than the normal for a guy who aims Q50/51 or maybe for anyone? Do i need more practice so that I can improve the speed?
You can also do this algebraically, but plugging in will be safer (and probably faster) for most students.
As for doing it in two minutes, well, I'm sure plenty of people could, but they're in the minority. If you're able to save time on some other questions, it's fine to spend a little more on one like this.
