Hi Paxton, thanks for helping us all with our apps.
I know there is no correct answer to this question, but I would love to get your input based on the circumstances specific to my situation.

I live in Austin. And say I receive an interview invite from McCombs (which says it does not discriminate between on and off campus interviews). Will it still not make any difference if I interview on or off campus? Will they expect me to interview on campus because I live here?

The main difference between on and off campus interviews seems to be that the on-campus ones are very structured. The off-campus ones are more informal. I would prefer the latter based on my personality - I can impress people but when things are too structured, I feel a bit stifled. But if interviewing on campus is going to fetch me brownie points, I am willing to give it a shot too.

What do you suggest? Any tips on selecting the interviewer?

Good question --and the first one that I've gotten! I think you should be fine doing an off-campus interview.

Don't get too comfortable, though: off-campus interviews can be laid-back but the interviewers are still very very sharp. I have seen folks make the mistake of thinking that the interviewer's laid-back and totally positive tone and style means that the interview is going well when it isn't.

So...be just as prepared, just as sharp, and just as on your game as you would be for an on-campus.
