Beat The GMAT

Hi ,

I will be 25 when I apply for fall 2010. I did my UG from INDIA . I am at present with TCS by 2010 i would have had 3.5 years of experience with 1 year at US . I scored 700 in GMAT and 110 in TOEFL.

I have a good academic records both at high school and college . I have been facilitator of my department international technical symposiums .I have a descent extra curricular track records.

At work I had been working in multiple areas within SCM with Target being my client , I am at present working in Target Head office representing my team for Target's ecommerce Applications.

I was identified by my client and my employer for undergoing a training and was mentoring the expertise to build a team under me to work on that technology .
And I was successful in doing it .

I am now a part of the front players in bringing in new projects for my company in my domain.

With all my 3 years of experience in SCM accrued my passion and urge to know more on SCM domain . With this in mind I am aiming at B schools that provide a better specialization in SCM .

Colleges of my interest are :

1) MIT
2) Tepper
3) McCombs
4) Fisher
5) Kenan Flager
6) Broad
7) Smeal

My concern here is whether my score is not good enough to make into these schools ? But having my growth at work I feel that it could balance my dip in GMAT score .

Could you please provide your opinion on whether my GMAT score is low and what all colleges would I be competitive at .

Hello, Senthil.

I would consider you (from the information provided) to be competitive at all the schools except MIT, with McCombs, Kenan-Flagler, and Tepper being reasonable reaches and the others being on par.

Part of the challenge is being in the over-represented Indian IT group; when you do your applications be sure to differentiate yourself within this group.

Thanks a lot for your reply !

I am just curious to know what or how can I improvise my profile to be eligible for MIT .

Should I retake my GMAT ?
should i wait for one more year and build Quality, Leadership involvement at work ?

Since you would have a better picture than me , it would be really helpful to know what kind of people does mIT take or how to improve my profile to match those of MIT expectation.
