Beat The GMAT a GMAT & MBA community

Thank you in advance for your help. I plan on applying first rounds this year for 2013 start. My profile is as follows:

GMAT: 740 (q49 v41)

Location: I was born in Alabama and have lived in Atlanta for the past 3.5 years.

Education: 4.0 GPA from a southeastern state school with a major in Finance and minor in Spanish. Officerships in multiple clubs, etc.

Work Experience:
-3 years at a regional investment bank as an Analyst in the healthcare investment banking group.
-9 months in a corporate development / strategy Associate position at a publicly traded healthcare company. I left due to a lack of deal activity (I know I need it for post-MBA private equity). I left on good terms and can actually get a letter of recommendation from the CFO (whom I worked with a decent amount) if I need to.
-By the time applications are due, I will have had 7 months experience at a lower middle market focused private equity group in Atlanta with $500M under management. We focus on small business services companies. Again, I came here to get closed M&A deal experience.

Volunteer: I volunteer at a children's advocacy organization, which is essentially a not-for-profit political action committee. I review legislation and have even drafted some resolutions (kind of like a small bill).

Other: I have my CFA, and passed all three levels on the first attempt.

My goal is to gain employment at a large middle market private equity firm after school, with a focus on healthcare services. I believe my deep healthcare experience, combined with my knowledge of the legislative system will help me complete my goals.

I plan to apply to HBS, Wharton, Stanford, Columbia, Chicago (maybe), and NYU. Should I apply to more schools as a backup? Does my short tenure at the publicly traded healthcare company hurt me?
