Hi , I recently gave the gmat and got a 700 score ( q51 , v33 ). All my education is from India. I want to apply for the september 2010 batch and am targeting b-schools like :

Europe : Manchester , Lancaster , Said , Judge , HEC Paris
US : Michigan Ross , Mccombs

Here is a brief summary of my acads and present profile.
Academics -
Undergradute degree - Graduated in 2007 from a engineering college in india in electronics and communication with cgpa of 8.1/10. I don't know how that goes to the scale of 4 as different schools have different ways to calculate.

10th : 85% ( Secondary level )
12th : 80% ( Senior Secondary level )

Extra Curricular -
- Designer of official Institute CD that the college uses to invite companies to campus and to represent the institute at various levels. ( This CD included the official college video and a flash website ). I was involved in both the arenas of development as the director of the video and flash developer. This task took around months to complete and was highly appreciated at all the levels of management. I have a letter of recommendation from the director of the institute himself for the work.
- Convener of a lot of societies and events in the college. Worked in organizing lots of technical and non technical events. Loads of certificates for them.
- Director of unofficial video for the institute as well.

Present Occupation and experience -
I have been working for an american semiconductor & EDA company in india for the past 2 years. ( 3 years by the time in case I get an admit). Joined as a design engineer
- Promoted to a senior position lately.
- Presently working on a project as a design consultant for a large semiconductor design house.
- Worked previously for on product development in audio verfication software.
- Couple of Recognitions for the work I have been doing from the company.

Community Service -
I have been part of an ngo for the past 6 months. I work with physically challenged children and help them with their studies and recreation activities on saturdays.

It would be be great if someone can comment on my profile and my chances with my applications to the above mentioned institutes.

You seem to have the core attributes of a competitive candidate at your target schools. Your uphill climb will be the same as mine was, in that you are coming from a very large pool of applicants with a similar background. Differentiation will be the key to being noticed and being remembered by the ad-committees, so make sure your essays are insightful and most importantly, anectdotal. You are the only person in the world with your unique story, so make yours shine and you will have a legitimate shot.

Ask yourself: what sets me apart from the other applicants with a similar work history and academic ability?
