Hi there,

Thanks for your information. Your academic profile puts you behind the pack for all of the target schools you listed. If you're keen on going after these programs, I suggest you retake the GMAT. Further, your work experience is decent - my struggle at the moment is that based on the content you provide, it's hard to assess what you actually did. "Taking care of" could mean a lot of different things, and I'm not sure what to make of it. What were your accomplishments? What did you lead? What were the results? These are things you should highlight on your resume and in your essays. Also, for your start-up/ventures - it's important to give the AdComm a sense of size and scope so that they can assess the relevance of your work.

For your involvement, I also see a lot of things you were a "part of" or a "member" of - while this is great, you'll want to also highlight the things you led and accomplished. I think your mention of the non-profit you developed is a great start. What was the size and scope of this program?

To further hone in on your school selection, it will also be helpful to understand what your goals are - both long and short term. Hope this information helps. Feel free to get back to us with the answers to the above questions. Also, feel free to check out our free resources to get you started for your R2 preparation. Best of luck this season!

Sir/Maam
"Taking care of" means I was a placement coordinator and my job was to liazen with the companies (basically H.R heads of the companies) and bring the companies to the college for the recruitment of students(b.tech, bba, mba)
I basically meet with the company H.R or placement consultants and convince them to come to our college for recruitment. In addition to it I was Quant trainer and guide the students as how to crack the written exam for the placement.
WHat are my chances with my profile and work experience in top B-School if I score 700+ in GMAT[/b]

Hi there,

While your GMAT is important, it is one component of your application. In looking at your work experience, it doesn't jump out at me. Unless your underselling me on what you do, it's pretty average when you compare yourself to the application pool of others that apply to top B-school programs. 700 on the GMAT is still below the median for your applicant pool at top programs. You'll need a 730+ to make a big dent and to emerge from the pack. Also, fit is important to your profile as well. What are your goals? Not all top-ten schools make sense for everyone. Do you want to go into strategy, marketing, finance, operations? Do you want to be a c-level executive or are you more into entrepreneurship? These answers will help filter schools out to help finalize a list of the right schools for you.
