Hello All,
So I just want to get some feedback in terms of whether or not my profile matches with the schools I would like to attend and if I have a legitimate shot at getting in. Your answers and feedback are much appreciated.
Profile:
Caucasian Male - 24 years old
Undergrad in Finance from Smeal College of Business with 3.25/4.00 gpa
GMAT Score - 640
Work experience - 2 years (1 as staff accountant, 1 as credit analyst)
Post MBA goal - earn CPA and climb the corporate ladder as a Financial Analyst
Target Schools:
Baylor University, University of Colorado, University of Miami, San Diego State University and University of Oklahoma (no particular order)
So in short, do I have a shot at getting into any of my target schools or are my expectations unrealistic?
Thank you for your time

Hi,
You are eligible to apply if we go with the minimum qualifications required for the business schools you are targeting. Your GMAT score is slightly above the median scores of the admitted students. The work experience of 2 years is also decent. However, if you want to ascend steep in your post-MBA career, we suggest you can think about retaking the GMAT for a better score and add on to your relevant work experience by another year. If you essentially wish to proceed this year itself, then make sure that your resume is convincing. The essays are spectacular, centered on your achievements, professional growth, and strengths. Get strong recommendations.

Your expectations are fine. The schools you are aiming for are in line with your GMAT, and with good applications, hopefully you should see some nice results.jorgehoward wrote:Hello All,

You've picked a good set of schools and they're aligned with your GMAT and experience. The fact that you doglegged left in your career makes sense given what you're trying to do post MBA. So really communicate why you did it and why an MBA is the right next step!
