Profile Evaluation: 4years experience in Industrial Sales Post Mon May 07, 2012 8:08 am
Hi,

I'm looking for some feedback on current list of schools and possible ways to improve my chances. Your help is appreciated.

Profile -

• Age: 26 years old, Male, Indian.
• Work Experience: approximately 4 years & 6 months of work experience.
• Field/Industry: Work in a multinational water treatment and process improvement company.
• Role: Finance - Industrial Sales of water treatment and process improvement chemicals and equipment. Also have 2 years(out of 4 years) experience in project execution and vendor development.
• GPA/School: 3.33, B-tech;chemical engineering from one of the reputed colleges in India
• GMAT: 640(Awa 4.0), Q46 V33 (Consider Retaking in June/July)
• Post MBA Goals - want to be product marketer, especially in a engineering company.

Short-list of schools -
• Copenhagen Business School
• RSM Rotterdam School of Management
• ESADE
• IE spain
• Texas A&M University

Based on my own assessment the list above ranges from stretch to competitive, but I would appreciate feedback or suggestions for other schools also.

I also feel that my GMAT is holding me back, should I retake my exams, I an not particularly strong in verbal and don't know what to do with it.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Rohit

Thanks for the post. What is the common thread between those schools -- seems like an interesting mix of schools.

You are right that your GMAT is going to be one of your weaknesses. As far as your verbal score, I would suggest a strong application, specifically your essays to demonstrate your strong written communication skills as well as a convincing interview. It's been my experience that verbal is the toughest portion to change in a short time frame, but you can also look to take a course if you haven't already. You should definitely re-take before applying so you can adjust school expectations accordingly. Feel free to email me directly if you want to chat further.

Best of luck with studying and I hope that helps.
