Topic: PREP TESTS. WHICH TO TAKE?
PostFri Jul 03, 2009 4:49 am

Hi experts,

Need a help. I have 10 saturdays+sundays to go for the Big DAY.

I want to give a prep test on all these 10 days.

I have 6 MGMAt tests.

I have already exhausted GMAT Prep (was scoring 750 regularly before my last GMAT attempt) , but still I intend to do it 2wice before this attempt.

I am left with 2 more days. Should I go for Veritas+Princeton free prep tests? or should I go for the Kaplan tests?

Thanks in Advance

Well, if you've only got 2 more slots available, go for the free tests! Kaplan also has a free online test, but their quant is heavily skewed in that one, possibly to attract customers for their programs.
Another option is the Knewton free test. I took that one a few days before my attempt and found it pretty rigorous.

Hey Dana,

The more rigorous the better...

I did all the four Kaplan tests on the CD, and boy those RCs were mind-numbing :-(...

however my CD has gone bad, and I cant redo Kaplan this time...

Also I intend to solve GMAt Paper test sections in a timed manner...

Although significant overlap is there, but some of the SCs and CRs(not in OG10 and OG11) were almost like the thing I saw in the real GMAT...

cheers

Kaplan RC is really pretty tough. On GMATprep tests I never had any mistakes (and I'm not kidding), but I'd get even 5 wrong on Kaplan! Their texts are a lot longer than what you'll see on the real thing and considerably more convoluted, so to speak.

You can access the Kaplan tests by registering your book on kaptest.com (I think) - you've got instructions at the beginning of the Premier program (if that's what you're using). Then you get to use a personal online syllabus that contains practice sets and the tests on the CD. You won't see the same questions though - I mean, not in the same order; I'm sure you'll see some repeats.
