Q23:
In the decimal representation of x, where 0 < x < 1, is the tenths digit if x nonzero?
(1) 16x is an integer.
(2) 8x is an integer.
A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is
sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

i thnk OA should be E

coz from 1 = x can be 1/16 = .06 = tenth place is zero
or x = 1/2 , 16*(1/2) = integer but 1/2 = .5 so tenth place is non -zero

and from 2 = x can be 1/8 8x= integer , 1/8 = 0.01 = tenth place is zero
x = 1/2 , 1/2 = 0.5 ...tenth place is non-zero

I dont know solution is right or not bt i can tell if tenth place is creating a prob after decimal , notation is like this
8. 01234
here 8 = unit digit
0 = tenth digit(1st digit after decimal)
1 = Hundreth digit
2 = Thousandth Digit
3 = ten-thousandth digit and so on

I vote for B

going by Vivek's calculation shown for statement 2 ...1/8= .125 so tenth digit would be non-zero..other values would also yeild a non-zero tenth digit

therefor statement 2 is sufficient.. Ans B
