How long did it take Jason to drive nonstop pn a trip from his home to Glendale?

(1) Glendale is 400 miles from jason's home.
(2) Jason's average speed for the trip was 50 miles per hour.

The OA is C.

I don't understand why that is the correct answer. Please, can any expert assist me with this DS question? Thanks.

Hi swerve,

We're asked for how long it took Jason to drive nonstop from his home to Glendale. This question is based on the Distance Formula (Distance = Rate x Time)

(1) Glendale is 400 miles from Jason's home.

Fact 1 gives us the distance, but we still need Jason's rate to determine the time it took him to travel that distance.
Fact 1 is INSUFFICIENT

2) Jason's average speed for the trip was 50 miles per hour.

Fact 2 gives us the rate, but we still need Jason's distance to determine the time it took him to travel that distance.
Fact 2 is INSUFFICIENT

Combined, we know the distance (400 miles) and the rate (50 miles/hour), so we can figure out the time to travel that distance (in this case, 8 hours)
Combined, SUFFICIENT

Final Answer: C
