Inferences are NOT explicitly mentioned in the passage.
Can an Inference be an answer to a SPECIFIC DETAIL BASED QUESTION?
Or
Does the answer of a Specific Detail based Question need to be EXPLICIT in the passage?

Experts Opinions are Preferred.

Typically a detail question will begin with the phrase "according to the passage" or "according to the author," implying that the detail itself is in the passage. The answer will be a paraphrase of a bit of text from the passage.

If both are almost same(one being a subset of another), then what is the logic of having two different types of questions?
Specific Detail Correct answer: Paraphrased( inference) OR explicitly mentioned
Inference Correct answer: ONLY Paraphrased( inference)
