Before you structure a strategy, you need to know where you're starting out, and you find this out best by taking a GMAC diagnostic.

Typically students identify weaknesses, and these lie in content deficiencies, bad or compromised test taking strategy and negative mindset (which manifests through anxiety, lack of focus, low esteem, arrogance, low confidence, etc..).

Once you target what you need to do to improve your score, you can make an action plan that is either generic and 'one-size-fits-all' or customized to your needs sets.

There are benefits to the many different ways of approaching score improvement, and you need to consider which way(s) will be ideal for you.

Hi Zeebrah,

In your two posts - in this thread and here

(https://www.beatthegmat.com/switching-fr ... tml#788133)

-you haven't provided much information on your plans or goals, so it would help if you could answer a few questions:

1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Zeebrah,

Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

Unfortunately, a March 27th Test Date gives you just 2 months of potential study time and many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores. If your application plans are 'locked in' and there's no potential flexibility, then there might be a limit to how well you can actually score in that time.

Z:

You can get a ful length CAT diagnostic on the MBA.COM website. This is a REAL test written by the test writers, so it's closest to the real deal.

I also want you to consider two other things. While some may say (Rich said it) that students typically need 3 months at least to study, every student is different and needs to follow different protocol. You might need more, you might need less.

Let's see where you're starting out, what kind of time you can put into your study, where your strenghts and weaknesses lie, and go from there.

Also, many of our students plan on taking the test at least 2x...so I don't know if that's in your schedule-mind as well.

Good luck!
