Hey dude,
Good to hear from you!

So first of all, it's hard to give you a real evaluation without a GMAT, as you can imagine, as it's a significant factor in your application. As for which GMAT to "aim for" - there's only ONE answer to that and that is: the best GMAT you can get. The best possible score is of course 800. :) But pull whatever you can, and let us know!
And we can take things from there.

On a side note, having GS on your resume will help a lot!
Best,
Jon

A few reflections on your profile Karthik
  1. While your employers have good brand in general, it will be important to understand the nature of your work itself. Operations Analyst is a very broad term and can mean several different things. The other thing that will be worth knowing is your post-MBA plans. Bear in mind that ISB isn't really you classic finance recruitment heavy school - so important to understand what you are aiming for.
  2. One way to assess the target GMAT is to aim for say at least 20-30 point higher than a given school's average. That will at least make the GMAT a hygiene factor if not an asset.
  3. College level ECs have marginal impact. The CSR thing can be pretty generic unless you are able to articulate some real impact. So think about that some more.
  4. Finally, the international experience can be a big plus. Make it count in your application.
Hope this helps some

Hi Karthik,

Your candidature is good. You have good brands, international experience and diversity of role. Honestly, college level extra currics wont help much.
Try to do some research on the kind of roles you can target post MBA. Talk to alumni with similar background to build up a coherent story. Channel your goals towards operations rather than finance to keep post MBA options open.

We would recommend that you target a 710+ on GMAT.

Feel free to contact us for any queries.
