I have a BS in Psych and am having trouble finding careers in the business field. I have some background in Collections and just got offered a role as a Collections Coordinator with a fortune 100 company. It is not a call center, but I'm wondering still if this is a job that I'll be able to use to apply for an MBA, or what type of career I should be looking to get into prior to applying for an MBA program? I'd like a role as a business analyst but am having trouble due to lack of experience. Will this job choice help or hinder my future in terms of applying for MBA, and post MBA careers?

Thanks

Hi bp2013,

You ask an interesting question. Since it's ultimately an admissions question, you would probably be best served by asking the Admissions Experts. There's a Forum full of them here:

That's a tough situation. Trying to decide between a job now and what might look best on a business school application. If it's your only option, go for it. While you are there, think about the types of experiences you can develop that will help you. Leadership. Problem solving. Coming up with a new process that improves an inefficiency. Those will all be things that can help your future application.
