When comprehension fails

I didn't get this question from a GMAT book, but it could be one. It is one of those unseemly questions that make you think testprep is an abomination, better shuttled off to another galaxy.

Attached as an image. Happy to provide OA, but will appreciate any responses.

Thanks for the link! Nice. The question you posted a link to is nice. This one, on the other hand, seems to make logical leaps and seems super-conniving in general. Expects us to read minds and pull ans out of air.

With the question you shared, the answer clearly seems to be E.

Of course! Reading Comp is tough enough when there is one correct answer. Practicing with sources that ask for multiple answer choices isn't the best use of your time (unless you're preparing for such a scenario on IR) :)

To be honest, this is a question from a competing test, that also begins with a 'G'. The only question of its kind I promise I will ever ask!

The forum has so many stalwarts, thought someone might be able to shine a light...You are right...sounds like an IR question too...

Ceilidh/other GMAT/GRE instructors,

Could you please provide some insights on this question. I am very curious to know how to address such questions as they could up on the IR too and I want to know if they require some special way of addressing them.

Thanks!
