Required Guidance on MBA abroad
This topic has expert replies
Hello everyone! I am an IT professional and working with an MNC from last 3.5 years. After my graduation, my plan was to get a job, work for the experience and then go ahead for masters. However, I believe that I have got enough experience and now I wish to be at the management level. I am planning to do an MBA somewhere in abroad so that I can get global exposure. With the current price hikes and inflation levels, I am worried about going ahead. I don't want to go for an executive MBA, if I do pursue an MBA, it would be a fulltime course. I would like to know what you guys think about doing an MBA abroad. Thanks in advance!

Why not? Great idea!
Step number 1: take the GMAT
Step number 2: take the TOEFL
Step number three: prepare to apply next year
Good luck!

Thank you for the reply, Jon sir! I will give GMAT exam for sure but before that I would just want to first finalise a university and country to plan out things, and set a target. Could you please help me with the name of the countries where job opportunities are high and where I can get settled? Awaiting your reply!
Hi, Life is risky, and so is studying abroad but all you need is confidence and faith in yourself to achieve your dreams. If you are planning to work abroad after MBA then I would suggest you to go for countries where job opportunities are high for tech professionals. I have observed that residents in countries like America, Australia, Canada, Singapore, New Zealand are not too fond of working in technical fields. They usually love to work in the field of marketing, research etc. So, your IT and management knowledge will definitely highlight your profile. Also, studying abroad will add an international experience to your profile. So doing an MBA abroad can be fruitful.
All the best!

Thanks for such an informative reply, Arjun Sir! This is something new which I am getting to know. I was actually opting Australia, Canada and Singapore. I don't want to pursue my further studies in the US and the UK for some personal reasons but would need help in selecting a country with a top MBA University. Just as an expert advice could you please suggest which country will be good for me Australia, Canada or Singapore? Also, can you name some top universities in these countries?

You are at the right stage of your career, most of the applicants for top B-schools will be in the range of 3-7 years. By doing MBA abroad you are open to international placement opportunities, solid networking opportunities, career growth, and most important is career shift. You can opt for B-Schools in Canada like Rotman, Ivey, Queens, York university, UBC Sauder. Also you can look at Singapore where there are good prospects for job post MBA. In Singapore you can think of applying to NUS, NTU, SMU. Ideally you should target minimum 6-7 schools to increase your chances. Also tell us more about your post MBA career goals and explain more about your job, this will help us to suggest right B-schools for you.

An international degree will give you the right kind of diversity and exposure. You can do MBA from US/ Canada as there the duration would be 2 years, in Canada it will range from 16- 24 months this will help you gain the right kind of experience. You should go ahead and apply.
