Chicagoland MBA Programs

by Nathan2508 » Thu Jun 04, 2015 8:52 pm
We all know that Booth and Kellogg are wonderful schools but they are most likely out of reach for many of us. Does anybody have an opinion about what the #3 full time program in Illinois is? I would probably move for the right program but prefer not to pull my fiance away from her current job!

According to US News, University of Illinois is the other top-50 program in the state: https://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandr ... ngs/page+2

(And if you're in-state, it's a pretty good bargain, tuition-wise.)

That said, I wouldn't rule out Booth or Kellogg. A 690 with good work experience and excellent essays will make you a competitive candidate at either school.

I plan to apply to both programs. All of my credentials will be in line with what they are looking for except for my poor undergraduate GPA.

I would most likely have to move to attend U of I, but it would be a bargain tuition-wise.

I would also suggest you check out Depaul. I know a few folks who have gone there and liked the experience. Especially if they are interested in real estate. Depaul has a good program for it. And they have a great location in the city. Don't forget to apply to the Booth part time program as well.
