Hey dude,
The short answer is if you want to get into MBB/Investment Banking you will likely need to break a 700 (they look at your GMAT when hiring too, besides the fact that it will be extremely helpful to get into the right school).

Now, you have made some incredible progress so far through determination and hard work, and I think it's worth it for you to try and push it one level higher. At some point you will reach your plateau, and then it's not worth it to hammer away at things senselessly, just for a score, but from what you have written here it seems like it is likely worth another shot.

You may want to change up a bit your style/approach by taking a course from another institution, but that's up to you.

Best,
Jon

Thanks Jon, I appreciate the advice. What is the risk associated with scoring lower the third time around? Let's say worst case scenario: 630.

It won't really hurt that much.

So don't worry about that.

But DO beat a 700!

Good luck!

Dear Dasani25,

A few clarifications/questions for you to push the envelope here:
  1. Since you are yet to graduate, wondering what the rush is to get done with the GMAT? Why not give it a rest, settle down in your work and then take another shot at it? The fatigue factor does get to you from time to time. Or are you planning to apply to early intake options?
  2. The other point I had was around your goals and where you are headed. i-banking operations (typically a back office role) doesn't have a straight connect with MBB or front end i-banking. So make sure you either fine tune your goals or your career progression. You may find our Profile Builder package relevant in case you are looking for specific advice on what to do for the next couple of years to get there.
Hope this helps,

Cheers,
