Hi, experts!
I would appreciate some help regarding my profile fit and GMAT score, even though I'll retake it on August, aiming 700+.

I'm a 27 yrs old brazilian woman with a Bachelor degree in International Relations at a top Brazilian university (grade 8.2 out of 10). I speak portuguese, english and spanish fluently and also speak some arabic.

I have 4 yrs of work experience in Competitive Intelligence, first at a major e-commerce brazilian group, then the major eletronic payment company here and now I am working at a major Telecom. On my last shift, I got a 40% sallary raise after taking a certificate course on Competitive Intelligence (grade 8.9 out of 10). I want to advance my career even more. My positions were always related to providing information and insights to different teams: account managers, commercial VP and Directors, marketing planners, financial departments, product development...

I do not have international experience, but I constantly interact with international consultants and employees of my company based in other contries. I do travel a lot abroad for academic reasons (language learning), tourism and visiting family abroad.

I've been engaged with volunteering since high school in many different institutions.
I'm a volunteer at one foundation for over 6 years now, with a leadership position.

I got 660 (Q-45; V-35; AWA-5.5; IR-5)on my first GMAT try and I will retake in August, aiming 700+

My goal is to get to LBS, starting in 2016. After The MBA, I plan to work in a tech or telecom company, since I've always worked in companies related to that and I like the way these companies change fast. It could be a big company, like the ones I've worked, or a startup. I specially loved working with eletronical payments! But I find it very hard to make this post-MBA goal clear and interesting... It is probably the aspect that I'll need most help with.

I will need a scholarship (currency conversion is very cruel).

Besides LBS, I will apply to: Cambrige Judge, Manchester, Imperial, Lisbon (the only one I won't need a scholarship)

If you need more info to evaluate, just let me know.

Thank you very much,
Niddy

Hello Niddy!

Good to hear from you.

So you have a very interesting profile to start with. You are female, Brazilian, have a unique job function, one at which you seem to excel.

So that's great.

You also speak lots of languages and have six years experience volunteering!

Great stuff.

The only real weakness I see is your GMAT. And what I would say is that since the rest of your profile is both good AND interesting, don't apply until you get that score you need!

Don't worry about schools for now, and chances etc. Just get that GMAT. The higher you get, the more ambitious you can be.

When will you be retaking?

And don't forget to let me know your score!

Best,
JF
