Target Bschools with 680[Q49,V34]

by mallika hunsur » Mon Apr 13, 2015 8:29 pm
Hi,

I am looking to apply this year for a one-year MBA and have a GMAT score of 680[49,V34].
I definitely have much more to add to my profile than just my GMAT score.

I need some advice on what my target Bschools should be with a strong profile+GMAT of 680.

Also, I'm looking for a one-year program-Sept or Jan Intake.

Any inputs at this stage will help!

Thanks,
Mallika

Hi Mallika,

You can apply to schools like ISB, IIM A,B & C in India. If you are targeting European and Canadian schools then you can consider applying to INSEAD, Oxford, Univ of Cambridge, LBS, Queens, Ivey, Schulich, Rotman. Ideally you should target minimum 5 B-schools to increase your chances. Hi Manish,

Many thanks for your reply!
But don't you think these schools are a bit of a stretch..?I have about 6.5 years of work-ex in IT, good progression and lots to show during my academic years apart from just academics.
Also, I am focussed on Program Management and am looking at an MBA to give me a fillip, as otherwise I'd be a while before I get to managing programs.
This is a brief outline.
I am looking at one year programs and intend to stick to IT. I am open to switching functions, but would like to stick to IT.

Do you still think the schools you mentioned are in my shooting range..?

Many thanks,
Mallika

Hi Mallika,

B-Schools look at your overall profile and since you have strong work experience with good academics and extra curriculars so I feel most of the schools except LBS and INSEAD are within your reach. You need to focus more on your application essays as they carry more weightage in deciding your candidature. You can contact us for free profile evaluation and suggest you best options.
