Accepting a place SOS

by sudipt23 » Thu Mar 26, 2015 4:13 am
Hi,

I have zeroed down on two options for my MBA studies and have to take a call within this week on which one to accept.

The schools in consideration are Syracuse(Whitman) & Case Western(Weatherhead).

After all analysis, these colleges are more or less similar. The only factor that is surprising is about 35 students out of a 73 people class in Syracuse are Indian. I see this as a red-flag, though haven't been able to come to objective conclusion as GMAT scores over the last 3 years do not suggest a fall in quality.

Moreover, at Case(Weatherhead) there has been a lot of change in terms of deans and leaders over the last few years; plus, it is only asking for a minimum GPA maintenance of 2.5 (60 credit course) over Syracuse's 3.0 (54 credit course).

Any help and/or suggestions will be of immense help.

Thanks a ton,

Sudipt

Hi Sudipt,

Congratulations on acceptances to both schools! You're right in that both schools are rather similar. What isn't quite clear is what exactly you want to do post-MBA? If you could share that it might help put some more distance between these two options.

That's a great plan, and I wish you the best of luck, but that'll be hard for anyone. Especially if you're international. What's your Plan B?

Plan A: Come back to india and engage in /start-up a venture.

Plan B: work in the supply chain industry in the US for a few years, come back and start-up.

So if you're interested in supply chain, then Whitman has a bit of an edge. They even have a supply chain management track so that could be right up your alley!
