GMAT- Need your Guidance Set 3

by Abhijit K » Sun Feb 15, 2015 6:27 am
If n is an integer and 100 < n <200, what is the value of n?
(1)n/36 is an odd integer
(2)n/45 is an even integer

Is statement B sufficient or we need both the statements?

Statement 1:
In other words, n is an ODD MULTIPLE OF 36 between 100 and 200.
It's possible that n = 3*36 = 108.
It's possible that n = 5*36 = 180.
Since n can be different values, INSUFFICIENT.

Statement 2:
In other words, n is an EVEN MULTIPLE OF 45 between 100 and 200.
Here, only one option is possible:
n = 4*45 = 180.
SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is B.
